Face & Scalp Massage Series – Part One Foundational Face & Scalp Massage Instructor: Valerie Karpiel, LMT, MIT, CEP Location: Handcrafted Therapy Training Center 2095 N. Collins Blvd #201, Richardson, TX 75080 Time: 9:00am - 1:00pm Tuition Cost: $150- Includes: small bottle of Jojoba oil and scalp tool 4 CE hours Course Description This foundational course provides massage therapists with a practical introduction to face and scalp massage, focusing on techniques that promote relaxation through nervous system regulation and reduce facial and scalp tension. Participants will gain a basic understanding of facial anatomy, as well as the fascial and anatomical structures of the scalp, and learn appropriate indications and contraindications for treatment. Through demonstration and hands-on practice, students will learn a complete face and scalp massage routine that can be immediately implemented in their practice. The course also covers strategies for integrating face and scalp massage into full-body sessions or offering it as a standalone service, along with guidance on effectively marketing this service to clients. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to: Demonstrate a basic understanding of facial anatomy and the fascial and anatomical structures of the scalp - Identify indications and contraindications for face and scalp massage and apply appropriate modifications -Perform effective face and scalp massage techniques designed to promote nervous system relaxation and reduce facial and scalp tension -Complete a structured face and scalp massage routine suitable for immediate use in clinical practice -Integrate face and scalp massage techniques into existing massage sessions or offer them as a focused service -Communicate the benefits of face and scalp massage to clients and apply basic marketing strategies to promote this service Valerie Karpiel, LMT, MTI, CEP Valerie knows there is no single approach that works for everyone, so she continues to educate herself on therapies that benefit her clientele. She has received her Massage Therapy Instructor License and Continuing Education Provider License for the state of Texas. During Wyoming’s off seasons, she travels back to Texas to not only educate therapists but to see her loyal Texas clients.
