Service Description
Integrative Passive Stretching Instructor: Amy Scottino, LMT, MTI, CEP Date: June 16, 2026 Location: Handcrafted Therapy Training Center 2095 N. Collins Blvd #201 Richardson, TX 75080 Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm Pending NCBTMB approval 6 CE Hours Integrative Passive Stretching is a hands-on, table-based course designed to deepen the massage therapist’s understanding of how powerful passive stretching can be when thoughtfully integrated into massage sessions. Taught through the lens of clinical application and real-world practice, this class emphasizes efficiency, intention, and results-driven techniques that seamlessly complement therapeutic bodywork. In this course, students will explore the role of passive stretching in improving mobility, reducing muscular tension, and addressing common patterns of postural imbalance and muscle shortening seen in today’s clients. We will begin in the prone position, focusing on frequently shortened posterior muscle groups, before transitioning to the supine position, where the majority of the class time will be spent addressing commonly shortened anterior muscle groups. Students will learn how to safely and effectively apply passive stretches on the massage table, with attention to proper body mechanics, client positioning, breath awareness, and therapist leverage. Emphasis is placed on integrating these techniques fluidly into massage sessions rather than treating stretching as a separate modality. By the end of this course, participants will leave with practical, immediately applicable passive stretching techniques that enhance their massage work, improve client outcomes, and expand their therapeutic skill set. Supplies to bring: sheet set, pen and paper to take notes, wear comfortable but professional attire.
