The body forms new collagen fibers (a naturally occurring protein in the body) to mend the damage, resulting in a scar. The new scar tissue will have a different texture and quality than the surrounding tissue.” ( taken from Webmd.com) There are many effective approaches to helping scar formation or scars that have already formed. This approach utilizes the Traditional Chinese Medicine technique of Gua Sha (scraping/coining) or graston (western approach) to “break up scar tissue”. We will navigate the process of scar formation, and the different types of scaring. You will receive the knowledge of how to help these types of scars using a Gua Sha tool that will be provided to you, which is included in the tuition, with adequate peer to peer practice.
