NCBTMB Approved Postpartum and Infant Massage Date: Tuesday, October 15, 2024 Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Location: Emerald Bodywork Education Facility 3700 W. 15th Street, 300D, Plano, TX 75075 Tuition: Course 6 CE hours ~ $175.00 Instructors: Christina Hughes and Amy Scottino Attention to physical healing in this course is important. But more important is the long-term healing that the mother feels well-nurtured and well-taken care of in the vital first days of motherhood. Since “birthing” their baby, the mother has a whole new set of challenges, and changes both psychologically and physiologically. Postpartum period is considered 6 weeks by Western Medicine, and 4 months for Eastern Medicine. The new mother could feel changes for over 2 years. In this 6 hour course we will navigate the physical and emotional changes that occur after childbirth. The way that bodywork can support the mother and baby. Supplies to bring: Body pillow with a normal pillow, or 3 normal pillows. Sheet set and lotion or oil. A babydoll to practice infant massage on.
